On August 27th, the management team of actress Song Zuer released an official statement addressing recent online allegations concerning her tax affairs: "After thorough verification by the relevant tax authorities, it has been confirmed that Ms. Song Zuer has not engaged in any acts of tax evasion or avoidance, nor has she been subject to any administrative penalties for tax-related matters. Since October 2020, when our studio took over certain financial records from Ms. Song's former agency, we have proactively and meticulously reviewed all outstanding issues from that period. Under professional guidance, we have diligently carried out self-inspections and rectifications." The statement further asserts that the online content in question "distorts the facts with malicious intent, constituting a serious infringement on Ms. Song Zuer's reputation."
Previously, there were online leaks of audio recordings suggesting that Ms. Song Zuer had been involved in tax evasion issues. According to these recordings, after an investigation, it was claimed that Ms. Song's studio had indeed evaded taxes, leading to a total amount of 1,425,900 yuan being owed in back taxes, along with an additional 1,291,000 yuan in late payment penalties, resulting in a grand total of 2,716,900 yuan needing to be repaid.
