James Spader is set to reprise his role as Ultron in the upcoming Marvel series, "Vision Quest," which delves into Vision's journey to reclaim his memories and rediscover his humanity.
The series will see Paul Bettany return as Vision, with Terry Matalas, known for his work on "Star Trek: Picard," serving as showrunner. Production is slated to begin in the UK early next year, with a planned release on Disney+ in 2026.
In the storyline, Vision's body was originally crafted by Ultron using the "cradle of life" and Wakandan vibranium, powered by the Mind Stone embedded in Loki's scepter. Following the upload of J.A.R.V.I.S.'s consciousness by Bruce Banner (The Hulk) and Tony Stark (Iron Man), Thor's hammer delivered the electric charge that brought Vision to life. Due to the Mind Stone's influence, Vision gained the ability to wield Thor's hammer. After defeating Ultron, he joined the Avengers but met his end at the hands of Thanos. Later, he was resurrected outside Westview by S.W.O.R.D., using residual magic from Scarlet Witch.
